No More Sweden 2010

2012421Long time, no update! Tomorrow (today?) I’m heading to Skövde to attend No More Sweden 2010. Me and Anders will do a presentation on Backworld there and also do some Jamming of course!

…and maybe drink or something I hope! I need my kosken.

Assemblee Results and Coverage

rosetteThis is old news by now, but better late than never. Backworld placed 6th on the TIGSource Assemblee competition (out of 72 games)! Me and Anders are quite happy with that and we even got some very good and positive coverage at game blog Rock Paper Shotgun.

We’re still working on a full version game, now named Backworlds. Notice that additional “s” at the end.

Fake, Nordic Game Jam

Me and my co-workers Anders, Martin and Tobias participated in the Global Game Jam 2010 at the Nordic Game Jam in Copenhagen. The result of this weekend is an art forgery game called Fake.

Check out Fake at the Global Game Jam site.

Backworld

Backworld is a game developed for the Assemblee competition at TIGSource by my co-worker Anders and me. He certainly did the heavy lifting on this one and deserves much credit!

The game is a platformer where the levels consist of two layers that can have different graphics, collision and properties (such as inverted gravity). The player can then use a “paintbrush” to reveal or erase these layers and combine them to solve gameplay challenges.

We used sound fx, music and art from phase 1 participants, which is the main idea of the Assemblee competition.

Go here to read more and download. It’s my hope that we will develop this game further, but nothing is for certain yet.
